What to know
- Minn Kota Riptide Terrova QUEST 90/115 saltwater bow-mount trolling motor
- 24/36V dual-voltage brushless drive
- 90 lb thrust at 24V / 115 lb thrust at 36V
- 87-inch shaft length (one of the longest in the Terrova line)
- Black finish
- Reinforced motor and mount for saltwater conditions
- Stow/Deploy lever with fall-away ramps - effortless manual deployment
- Auto Park - automatically orients lower unit to perfect stow position
What is included
- power steering driven by the wireless remote - the steering response is electric / electronic rather than mechanical cable steering. Power steering means smooth, precise control from the remote, with the steering motor doing the actual work of turning the lower unit. For owners who control the motor primarily via the remote (vs the foot pedal that this configuration doesn't include), power steering is the natural choice.
- heading sensor), Drift Mode (simultaneous speed and course control - no drift socks or kicker motor needed), AutoPilot, Recorded Paths. Eco-mode reduces current draw at 20 percent battery. Digital Maximizer extends runtime up to 5x. One-Boat Network compatibility with iOS / Android mobile app. Indestructible composite shaft guaranteed for life. Foot pedal NOT included (this is the wireless-remote-only configuration).

Product questions
What's the difference between Terrova and Instinct / Ulterra?
Stow/deploy method. Terrova (this motor) uses a manual Stow/Deploy lever with fall-away ramps - press the lever, motor deploys via gravity, simple and reliable. Instinct and Ulterra use motorized auto-stow / auto-deploy - press a button, electric motor handles deployment / retraction. Terrova is meaningfully simpler, cheaper, and lighter. For typical offshore saltwater use where you deploy / stow a few times per trip, manual Terrova is the right tradeoff. For tournament bass fishing where you stow / deploy dozens of times per day, the Ulterra / Instinct motorized capability is worth the cost premium.
Will the 87-inch shaft fit my boat?
87 inches is one of the longest shafts in the Terrova line, sized for boats with very tall bow heights above the waterline - typical of larger offshore center consoles, deep-V hulls with raised foredecks, big bay boats. For typical bow heights up to 30-32 inches above the waterline, this shaft length is correct. For shorter bow heights, the 72-inch or 60-inch Terrova variants are right. Measure your bow height (waterline to trolling motor mount) and target 4-6 inches of prop depth below the waterline when deployed.
What's the difference between 90 lb and 115 lb thrust?
Same motor. 90 lb is when wired for 24V (two batteries in series). 115 lb is when wired for 36V (three batteries in series). The dual-voltage design lets you start on 24V and upgrade to 36V later by adding a third battery and re-wiring - no new motor needed. For boats over 21 feet or in heavy wind / current, the 36V / 115 lb config is the right call. For smaller boats or calmer conditions, 24V / 90 lb is plenty.
What's Auto Park?
When you retract the motor from deployed position, Auto Park automatically orients the lower unit to the perfect stow position - rotates the prop / lower unit so it sits cleanly in the bow mount cradle without manual alignment. The feature that makes manual stow with the Terrova nearly as easy as motorized stow on the Ulterra / Instinct. You pull up the motor, Auto Park does the alignment work, the motor sits down cleanly.
What's Spot-Lock?
Spot-Lock uses GPS to hold the boat in a fixed location regardless of wind and current. Press the button at a productive fishing spot, the motor takes over and keeps you precisely there - typical accuracy within a few feet of the original location. For inshore saltwater fishing over isolated structure (oyster reefs, channel edges, dock pilings), Spot-Lock replaces traditional anchoring entirely. Spot-Lock with Jog lets you move the locked position 5 feet in any direction with one button press using the included heading sensor.
What's Drift Mode?
Drift Mode lets you specify a drift direction and speed, and the motor automatically engages both speed control AND course control simultaneously. For inshore saltwater anglers who fish drifting techniques, Drift Mode replaces the need for drift socks, kicker motors, or constant manual rudder management. Point-and-shoot navigation across any wind / current conditions.
Is there a foot pedal?
No - the 1363912 configuration is wireless-remote-only. No foot pedal in the box. For owners who want both foot pedal AND wireless remote control, the foot pedal is sold separately as an accessory. For typical Terrova use the wireless remote is the primary control surface - the Terrova's design assumes remote-first operation, unlike the foot-pedal-first design of cable-steer trolling motors.
What about saltwater maintenance?
Rinse with fresh water after each saltwater trip - rinse the motor body, prop, and especially the underside where the prop meets the lower unit. Inspect prop / skeg / fasteners periodically for galvanic corrosion. Properly maintained, the Riptide will outlast multiple freshwater motors used in equivalent conditions - the saltwater protection package is what justifies the cost premium over the freshwater Terrova.
